A h\u00e1romszintes \u00e9p\u00fclet a Ter\u00e9z k\u00f6r\u00fat \u00e9s a Podmaniczky utca tal\u00e1lkoz\u00e1s\u00e1ban helyezkedik el L-alakban. Az el\u0151sz\u00f6r k\u00e9t, majd 1915-ben h\u00e1romemeletesre b\u0151v\u00edtett \u00e9p\u00fclet egyik \u00e9rdekess\u00e9ge, hogy a k\u00f6z\u00e9pf\u0151fal n\u00e9lk\u00fcli sz\u00e1rnyban 9 \u00e9s 15 m\u00e9teres feszt\u00e1vols\u00e1g\u00fa \u00e1thidal\u00f3k k\u00f6z\u00f6tt 5 m-re l\u00e9v\u0151 gerend\u00e1k hordj\u00e1k a mennyezetet, ami \u00e1ltal nagy termeket lehetett kialak\u00edtani. 2004-ig a vas\u00fati s\u00ednek is eg\u00e9szen az \u00e9p\u00fcletig futottak, hiszen a Budapest 62-es posta ind\u00edtotta az orsz\u00e1g egy r\u00e9sz\u00e9be a mozg\u00f3postavonatokat.<\/p>\n<p>A ter\u00fclet eredetileg a Nyugati p\u00e1lyaudvar r\u00e9sz\u00e9t k\u00e9pezte. K\u00e9t darab k\u00fcl\u00f6n\u00e1ll\u00f3 l\u00e9pcs\u0151h\u00e1zon kereszt\u00fcl lehetett megk\u00f6zel\u00edteni a helyis\u00e9geket \u00e9s a k\u00fcl\u00f6nb\u00f6z\u0151 szinteket. A Podmaniczky utca fel\u0151l az alagsorba k\u00fcl\u00f6n r\u00e1mp\u00e1s lej\u00e1rat is vezet, mely alkalmas az ide \u00e9rkez\u0151 j\u00e1rm\u0171vek lejut\u00e1s\u00e1hoz. Ezen a szinten tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3ak a k\u00fcl\u00f6nb\u00f6z\u0151 rakt\u00e1rak, a mozg\u00f3posta hivatali r\u00e9sze, a sz\u00e9nrakt\u00e1r \u00e9s a kaz\u00e1nh\u00e1z. A f\u00f6ldszinten kaptak helyet a posta f\u0151bb funkci\u00f3i. T\u00f6bbek k\u00f6z\u00f6tt: kocsiposta, fel\u00fcgyel\u0151szoba, kocsiposta-\u00e1tv\u00e9tel, lev\u00e9l\u00e1tv\u00e9tel \u00e9s itt t\u00f6rt\u00e9nt a rovatol\u00e1s. A bels\u0151 udvaron a fedetten kialak\u00edtott peronokhoz \u00e9rkeztek meg a vas\u00fati kocsik, amelyek a postai k\u00fcldem\u00e9nyeket sz\u00e1ll\u00edtott\u00e1k. A harmadik emeleten a Ter\u00e9z k\u00f6r\u00fat \u00e9s a Podmaniczky utca sark\u00e1n f\u0151n\u00f6ki lak\u00e1st alak\u00edtottak ki, mellette okm\u00e1nyt\u00e1r. r\u00e9sszel \u00e9s a Podmaniczky utca fel\u0151li l\u00e9pcs\u0151h\u00e1zb\u00f3l nyitottak m\u00e9g egy k\u00e9tszob\u00e1s lak\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Az \u00e9p\u00fclet Podmaniczky utca fel\u00e9 eredetileg be\u00e9p\u00edtetlen tet\u0151t\u00e9rrel rendelkezett, amit 1915-ben b\u0151v\u00edttetek. Az \u00e9p\u00fcletet 2013-ban fel\u00faj\u00edtott\u00e1k. A budapesti p\u00e1lyaudvarokr\u00f3l, t\u00f6bbek k\u00f6z\u00f6tt a Nyugati p\u00e1lyaudvar\u00f3l is ind\u00edtottak vas\u00fati postakocsikat. Ezek a vas\u00fati kocsik egy\u00fcttesen alkottak mozg\u00f3post\u00e1t. A vas\u00fati kocsik k\u00fcl\u00f6nb\u00f6z\u0151 postai hivatalokat l\u00e1ttak el. A f\u0151bb \u00e1llom\u00e1sokr\u00f3l elindulva, az ott m\u00e1r el\u0151re szort\u00edrozott leveleket sz\u00e1ll\u00edtott\u00e1k tov\u00e1bb.
