Az ingatlan 1768-t\u00f3l 1929-ig volt a K\u00e1rolyi csal\u00e1d tulajdona, 1932 \u00f3ta k\u00f6zpark. A k\u00f6z\u00e9pkort\u00f3l kezdve kertk\u00e9nt m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt, a legenda szerint itt volt Hunyadi M\u00e1ty\u00e1s vadaskertje is. Az 1920-as \u00e9vek v\u00e9g\u00e9n a f\u0151v\u00e1ros megv\u00e1s\u00e1rolta a birtokot \u00e9s k\u00f6zparkk\u00e1 nyilv\u00e1n\u00edtotta. A K\u00e1rolyi-kert a sz\u00e1zad derek\u00e1ig szabadt\u00e9ri koncertek kedvelt helysz\u00edne volt.
