Overlooking the market, it was largely inhabited by craftsman and merchants but also a junk dealer, a playwright, a horse agent and an artiste. It was home to an architect\u2019s office and the office of a felt factory, \u201cbuying cow and calf hair at the highest price\u201dand later a box factory, which incidentally, has been proven to have survived two fires.
