In 1944 the building became part of the ghetto, and by the end of the 1950s sacral life had ceased. After a complete renovation in 2021, following the destruction of the decades, it reopened as a community space welcoming tourists, concerts, performances, events, a museum and sacred life as well. The renovation was designed by the architects K\u0151nig and Wagner.
