At 28\u201330 Bercs\u00e9nyi Street stands a unique building that differs in appearance from the other houses on the street. The building of the BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) Architecture Dormitory is one of the last examples of socialist realism\u2014albeit in a simplified form\u2014among the predominantly 20th-century modern-style residential buildings. The dormitory is built in a closed-block layout. The five-story structure, characterized by a strongly horizontal composition, features a restrained architectural design. The base is clad in artificial stone, and above it, the fa\u00e7ade facing Bercs\u00e9nyi Street is segmented by evenly spaced, simply framed windows, except for the central axis.
Here, a milder form of a portico-style entrance is located. A dentil cornice runs above the first-floor windows and the entrance. Above the cornice, in the central axis, is a semicircular arched window, and above that, on the 3rd to 5th floors, there are three narrow, unsegmented windows on each level. According to the original plans, a two-story courtyard wing was connected to the five-story street-front block via a linking section. On the mezzanine, accessible from the foyer of the main block, there was a parquet-floored \u201cconditioning room<\/em>,\u201d a cloakroom, and a cultural hall (currently a gym), which also functioned as a dining hall; the latter two were clad in red marble from Piszke.
During the 1988 renovation, the dining hall and gym were converted into a concert venue. Beneath the cultural hall was a kitchen facility capable of serving multiple dormitories, with a capacity of 1,000 people. The renovation plans from 1988 also reveal changes to the basement functions of the two-story building. In the former kitchen area, an exhibition space was later established, along with two club rooms and two workshop rooms designed by Katalin Gergely (UVATERV). All of these rooms featured stone cladding and suspended ceilings. <\/p>\n

Az 1955-ben \u00e9p\u00fclt koll\u00e9giumot Boross Zolt\u00e1n \u00e9s Bicz\u00f3 Katalin tervezt\u00e9k 1953-ban.[ 4<\/a>] Boross Zolt\u00e1n \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9sz 1926-ban Budapesten sz\u00fcletett.[ 5<\/a>] 1954-ben a BUV\u00c1TI-n\u00e1l helyezkedett el. M\u00e9g ez el\u0151tt, 1952-ben tervezte a csepeli munk\u00e1ssz\u00e1ll\u00f3t K\u00f3sa Zolt\u00e1n, D\u00e1vid K\u00e1roly \u00e9s Pfannl Egon \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szekkel.[6] 1959 k\u00f6r\u00fcl tervezte az \u00dcll\u0151i \u00fat 81. alatti lak\u00f3\u00e9p\u00fcletet, m\u00e1r a hatvanas \u00e9vek \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szet\u00e9nek szellem\u00e9ben.[ 7<\/a>] 1960-ban Benjamin K\u00e1roly \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9sszel egy\u00fctt tervezt\u00e9k az 514-es jel\u0171 h\u00e1zakat (A, B, C) az \u00f3budai k\u00eds\u00e9rleti lak\u00f3telepen,[ 8<\/a>] \u00e9s ebben az \u00e9vben kapta meg Boross az Ybl Mikl\u00f3s-d\u00edjat. 1961-ben \u00e9p\u00fclt fel a Fiasty\u00fak utcai lak\u00f3telep, amelynek h\u00e1zait szint\u00e9n Bicz\u00f3 Katalinnal tervezt\u00e9k.[9] 1968-ban \u00e9p\u00fcltek fel az \u00e1ltala tervezett OTP lak\u00f3h\u00e1zak a T\u00e1ncsics Mih\u00e1ly utc\u00e1ban \u00e9s az Alag\u00fat utca \u2013 Attila utca sark\u00e1n.[10]<\/p>\n

1945 ut\u00e1n nagy beruh\u00e1z\u00e1si program keret\u00e9ben a BME sok \u00faj \u00e9p\u00fclettel \u2013 el\u0151ad\u00f3helyis\u00e9gekkel, k\u00eds\u00e9rleti \u00fczemekkel, koll\u00e9giumokkal \u2013 b\u0151v\u00fclt.[11] A Bercs\u00e9nyi (el\u0151tte R\u00f3zsa Ferenc) Koll\u00e9giumot 1956-ban adt\u00e1k \u00e1t. Az int\u00e9zm\u00e9ny hivatalosan 1963-ban kapott koll\u00e9giumi st\u00e1tuszt, el\u0151tte di\u00e1kotthonnak h\u00edvt\u00e1k. A st\u00e1tusz megszerz\u00e9s\u00e9vel m\u00e1r kiz\u00e1r\u00f3lag \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szm\u00e9rn\u00f6k hallgat\u00f3k lakhattak benne.[12<\/a>] <\/p>\n

A koll\u00e9giumban m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt a Bercs\u00e9nyi Klub \u2013 benne m\u0171v\u00e9szeti gal\u00e9ri\u00e1val \u2013, amely gyakran adott helyet kort\u00e1rs koncerteknek is. 1963 okt\u00f3ber\u00e9ben rendezt\u00e9k az els\u0151 ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1st, \u00e9s ez \u00e9v \u0151sz\u00e9n jelent meg a koll\u00e9gium \u00fajs\u00e1gja is, a Bercs\u00e9nyi 28-30<\/em>, amit kezdetben k\u00e9thetente adtak ki. A lapban interj\u00fak, p\u00e1ly\u00e1zati anyagok, diplomamunk\u00e1k, \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szeti tanulm\u00e1nyok, ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1si besz\u00e1mol\u00f3k jelentek meg.[13] A ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00f3helyis\u00e9g nemcsak a koll\u00e9giumi hallgat\u00f3k, de azon m\u0171v\u00e9szek el\u0151tt is nyitva \u00e1llt, akik a hivatalos m\u0171v\u00e9szeti helyeken nem \u00e1ll\u00edthattak ki ekkor.[14] A hatvanas \u00e9vekben a hallgat\u00f3k k\u00f6z\u00fcl Bachman Zolt\u00e1n \u00e9s Vidolovits L\u00e1szl\u00f3 vettek r\u00e9szt a koll\u00e9giumi \u00e9letben ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1sszervez\u0151k\u00e9nt \u00e9s a fent eml\u00edtett foly\u00f3irat szerkeszt\u0151jek\u00e9nt. Ebben az id\u0151szakban \u00e1ll\u00edtott ki Paizs L\u00e1szl\u00f3, Attalai G\u00e1bor \u00e9s Vet\u0151 J\u00e1nos is. 1972-ben itt mutatta be Szentj\u00f3by Tam\u00e1s A legnagyobb engedetlens\u00e9gi sz\u00e1m<\/em> c\u00edm\u0171 happeningj\u00e9t. Szint\u00e9n Szentj\u00f3by szervezte Beke L\u00e1szl\u00f3 m\u0171v\u00e9szett\u00f6rt\u00e9n\u00e9sszel ebben az \u00e9vben az Avangard Fesztiv\u00e1lt<\/em>, amit v\u00e9g\u00fcl a rend\u0151rs\u00e9g betiltott. A k\u00e9pz\u0151m\u0171v\u00e9szek mellett gyakori vend\u00e9ge volt a Klubnak a Syrius zenekar is ebben az id\u0151szakban.[16] <\/p>\n

1978 \u00e9s 1980 k\u00f6z\u00f6tt a performanszok, happeningek voltak jellemz\u0151k: Hajas Tibor, Pauer Gyula, Erd\u00e9ly Mikl\u00f3s, Hal\u00e1sz Andr\u00e1s el\u0151ad\u00e1sait l\u00e1thatta a k\u00f6z\u00f6ns\u00e9g. \u00c9p\u00edt\u00e9szeti ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1sokat is tartottak, az egyik ilyen volt 1978-ban az \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szet hat\u00e1rter\u00fcleteivel foglalkoz\u00f3 \u00c1l-, kv\u00e1zi-, meta\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szet<\/em>, amelynek anyaga bek\u00fcld\u00f6tt p\u00e1ly\u00e1zatokb\u00f3l \u00e1llt \u00f6ssze. Az 1981-87 k\u00f6z\u00f6tti peri\u00f3dusban m\u00e1r az avantg\u00e1rd ut\u00e1ni m\u0171v\u00e9szet volt a t\u00e9ma: itt rendezte els\u0151 ki\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1t 1981-ben a Vet\u0151-Zuzu p\u00e1ros, azaz Vet\u0151 J\u00e1nos \u00e9s M\u00e9hes L\u00f3r\u00e1nt, \u00e9s t\u00f6bbsz\u00f6r ki\u00e1ll\u00edtott a Xertox csoport is.[17] Az 1988-as fel\u00faj\u00edt\u00e1s \u00e9s \u00e1talak\u00edt\u00e1s korl\u00e1tozni kezdte a Klub tev\u00e9kenys\u00e9geit; a rendszerv\u00e1lt\u00e1s ut\u00e1n megsz\u0171nt a foly\u00f3irattal egy\u00fctt.[18<\/a>] <\/p>\n
