Built as the city\u2019s first modern secondary school, the Szil\u00e1gyi Erzs\u00e9bet Girls\u2019 High School and Kindergarten was designed by certified architects Tibor H\u00fcbner and K\u00e1roly Weichinger, whose award-winning plans won a competition. Now you have the opportunity to discover the hidden Small Courtyard (\u201cKisudvar\u201d) of the modernist school, built in 1936, which is an exciting element of the building\u2019s spatial organization.During the programs \u201cThis Is How We See It\u201d and \u201cShape Your School, Szil\u00e1gyi!\u201d, students and teachers collaboratively shaped the Small Courtyard, laying the foundation for it to become a community space \u2014 the realized temporary installation is now on display. A n\u00e9gyemeletes, lapostet\u0151s, vasbetonv\u00e1zas \u00e9p\u00fclet iskolar\u00e9sze a M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros utc\u00e1r\u00f3l, \u00f3vodar\u00e9sze a Kosciuszko utc\u00e1b\u00f3l ny\u00edlt. Az els\u0151 vil\u00e1gh\u00e1bor\u00fa, majd a gazdas\u00e1gi vil\u00e1gv\u00e1ls\u00e1g miatt a f\u0151v\u00e1rosi \u00e9p\u00edtkez\u00e9sekben, \u00edgy az iskola\u00e9p\u00edtkez\u00e9sekben is sz\u00fcnet \u00e1llt be, amely 1928-t\u00f3l kezdett csak megszakadni. Az I. ker\u00fclet Ince p\u00e1pa t\u00e9ren l\u00e9v\u0151 \u00e9p\u00fclet, ahol els\u0151 \u00edzben m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt a l\u00e1nygimn\u00e1zium, m\u00e1r nem felelt meg az iskola c\u00e9ljainak, neh\u00e9z volt ugyanis naponta a v\u00e1rba bej\u00e1rni sokaknak, akik a v\u00e1ros m\u00e1s r\u00e9szein laktak. Az akkori int\u00e9zm\u00e9ny sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra \u00edgy egy \u00faj helysz\u00ednt jel\u00f6ltek ki, ahov\u00e1 modern iskola meg\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s\u00e9t. tervezt\u00e9k. A M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros utca \u00e9s a Korona\u0151r utca sark\u00e1n v\u00e1lasztottak ter\u00fcletet, amelyhez hozz\u00e1kapcsolt\u00e1k az egykori, lebontott kisded\u00f3v\u00f3 telk\u00e9t is. Az 1935-36-os \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s k\u00f6lts\u00e9ge nagyj\u00e1b\u00f3l h\u00e9tsz\u00e1zezer peng\u0151re r\u00fagott, amely mag\u00e1ba foglalta a kb. 3800 n\u00e9gyzetm\u00e9teres telek megv\u00e1s\u00e1rl\u00e1s\u00e1t, a 2300 be\u00e9p\u00edtett n\u00e9gyzetm\u00e9tert, valamint az 1500 n\u00e9gyzetm\u00e9teres udvar kialak\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1t. Az 1881-ben alap\u00edtott f\u0151v\u00e1rosi els\u0151 ker\u00fcleti nyilv\u00e1nos le\u00e1nyiskola 1922-ben vette fel Szil\u00e1gyi Erzs\u00e9bet nev\u00e9t. 1936-ban, az \u00faj helysz\u00ednen \u00edgy kezd\u0151d\u00f6tt meg a tan\u00edt\u00e1s. Az \u00e9p\u00fclet tervez\u00e9s\u00e9n\u00e9l term\u00e9szetesen – a korszak modern \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szeti met\u00f3dus\u00e1t k\u00f6vetve – a praktikuss\u00e1g \u00e9s a k\u00f6nny\u0171 haszn\u00e1lat ker\u00fclt el\u0151t\u00e9rbe. \u00cdgy kapott helyet az el\u0151csarnokban egy hatalmas k\u00f6zponti ruhat\u00e1r, amelyen \u00e1thaladva folytat\u00f3dott a bej\u00e1rati ajt\u00f3n\u00e1l megkezdett l\u00e9pcs\u0151sor. A kab\u00e1tok lerak\u00e1sa ut\u00e1n m\u00e1r indulhattak is tov\u00e1bb a di\u00e1kok az iskola belseje fel\u00e9. Nem kellett visszafordulni, ker\u00fcl\u0151t tenni, \u00e9s m\u00e9g a torl\u00f3d\u00e1s is elker\u00fclhet\u0151v\u00e9 v\u00e1lt.
