How did the Kelenföld area look like in the 20th century? What is the history of the site of Szent Imre Hospital? If you want to know what it was like to live in newly built, prefabricated houses or what are the secrets of the blue building of the Tétényi shopping centre, join us for a walk. Our route will take us through the hills of the Bull Park, in the shadows of the prefab housing estates, to find out what life was like in the seventies and what is buried under the park.

Urbanization or, as a matter of fact, the whole idea of building is characterized by the image of man placing itself in nature. As with many other things, modernism, not just as a style, but even more as a (meta)narrative aims at turning things upside down: as a tangible example, in the case of the Kis-Sváb-hegy, man seems to have the opposite task of placing nature within the city. Back then, it seems, everyone was hoping to soon dwell in Utopia - but how exactly? The walk is part of the series “PERIPATOS - Living urban philosophy” offered by the URBANUM urban research lab.
