Between 1958 and 1960, the first experimental residential complex showing a variety of building forms and methods was built in Óbuda, creating exemplary types of modern housing. In the 1960s, further attempts were made to find a more efficient way of building and creating housing more suited to the changing way of life. In terms of exciting alternatives, the experimental housing estate near Budafok-Háros stands out, with a colorful range of high-rise as well as small-scale prefab housing.
