    Data and description

    This three-storey building on the corner of Dohány Street and Kazinczy Street (formerly: Nagykereszt Street) was built in 1872, designed by József Pán and Antal Hanisch, commissioned by Antal Deutsch. The classicist façade overlooking Dohány street attracts one’s gaze with Greek sculptures and archaizing columns over its gate. On the third floor of the building lived the famous writer, Kálmán Mikszáth with his family for four years during which , among others, the novel The Magic Caftan (published in 1889). The building has been a listed monument since 2005.
