Data and description
After the construction of the imposing house between 1870 and 1872, Ármin Nágel leased it to the Joseph University of Technology (later the Technical University), which operated here for 10 years. János Csonka, the founder of the Hungarian automobile industry, built the four-stroke gas engine in the building’s machine shop in the rear wing. Later, his wife provided the Ethnographic Department of the National Museum with a permanent exhibition of his inventions between 1893 and 1906, at the suggestion of János Jankó.
