    Data and description

    In the doorway of the modern building, we are greeted by medieval sitting niches and door frames, which were recovered from the ruins of the almost completely destroyed Esterházy Palace in 1952 during the restoration work following the siege in World War II. These invaluable architectural elements have ‘survived’ several rebuilds over the centuries. Their presentation in the current building, after almost a decade of planning and construction, is a good example of the fusion of historic and modern architecture.
